Mayor John Lee- Understanding Las Vegas
From the moment he moved into Las Vegas at the tender age of six, it has been a negative image fight for your Northern part of Nevada. In his younger years, this area of town was known as a poor people’s city. As he continued to grow and get into high school the perceptions changed to being viewed as an area full of vandalism and gangs. Unfortunately, these unfavorable perceptions continue years on since the city is still recognized as a financial misfortune. From a position of being a former senator, Lee’s current position as mayor meant inheriting a city with numerous problems. It had been in a moment when housing market crash and recession were the in point. Interactions with unions were stained and in the verge of breaking.
Despite these difficulties, it had been Lee’s belief he may turn issues around and deliver life towards the area of Las Vegas. This was a city he was passionate about being the spot that he became and achieved his spouse in senior high school not forgetting that his first employment was within the same town. This idea of transforming things about originated from the truth that Lee had enough knowledge from his past position like a senator together with becoming an operator of two successful companies. This enthusiastic idea could not be disputed, as passion was all he had a need to shine. When asked about the strategy for his first year in office, the mayor revealed that he was more interested in creating a new positive image for the city while meeting immediate needs that residents had. This would imply coping with labor issues and opening up spots that have been previously closed for one explanation or another. The aim would be to work a few more extra hours until the vision of positivity is achieved. His ideal relied on the aspect of eliminating clutter and disturbances as these would hinder his goal of taking the city forward thus, they had to go.

The fact the law permitted his crew to work well with different department’s resources made it possible to use normal funds for improvements. There was a lot on the books and the fact was that more than fifty percent of the city was not built thus leaving a lot of raw land to be used up for development.
